Abastra Environmental completed the safe removal of asbestos-containing debris and residue within an education centre in Kent. The works formed part of essential maintenance and refurbishment activities to ensure the building remained safe and compliant for future use.
The Challenge
Asbestos-containing residue and debris were discovered beneath floor paint, as well as on walls and ceilings throughout the property. Due to the occupied nature of the environment, strict control measures were required to minimise fibre release and disruption.
Our Solution
Our asbestos removal specialists implemented a controlled removal process using air-fed needle scalers fitted with dust shrouds to reduce airborne fibre release during floor preparation works.
Additional asbestos residue on walls and ceilings was carefully removed using non-mechanical methods wherever reasonably practicable. Once removal works were completed, two coats of rubberised encapsulation paint were applied to seal any remaining traces safely.
